Queremos acreditar que “There is no them, There’s only us”, nós, fãs; unidos à nossa banda favorita.
“We’re not looking for money. We’re looking for our voices back.”

“We are one, but we are not the same…” We are not the same, but we are one, we are dozens, we are hundreds, thousands, hundred thousand fans driven by love, a song, a voice, even since times when social networks did not even exist, we have been sticking together to celebrate our passion for the band that united us all. A band that defends equality, union, equal rights to all; a band that a band that preaches love: the U2.
The arrival of the internet has broadened the access to information and enabled the dissemination of the social networks, thereby facilitating the sharing of this love and strengthening friendship ties. We no longer meet at bars and friend’s houses holding newspaper clippings, as we now get online to engage with friends in forums, social networks and fanpages. We share our love with the world, our news, our lives, our friendships.
However, this “habit” seems to be under threat, as in less than a week two of the largest Brazilian fanpages were blocked and removed from Facebook without any criteria and with no prior notice: U2-Ultraviolet and U2BR. With tied hands and silenced voices, years of work have been simply erased. We could not defend ourselves as we only received an automatic message saying that we had supposedly engaged in VIOLATIONS OF SOCIAL NETWORK POLICY. But how? In which post? No clarification has been given to us and we were denied the right of defense. In other words, our voices have been silenced.
We want to believe that “There is no them, There’s only us”, us, fans United to our favorite band. Therefore, U2, please don’t let Facebook shut us up, do not take our space from us … How can we share our love for the band? How can we be one without our fanpages?
We need your support! We need our pages back! We are one, we are a lot and we will not accept this arbitrary removal and without any justification. Stay with us and help us recoup our pages. “We’re not looking for money. We’re looking for our voices back.”
