2007 AWARDS LIST AND FINAL COMMUNIQUE

November 4th 2007 marked the 19th World Music Awards, back in the Principality of Monaco for the first time in several years.
An emotion charged evening was highlighted by performances by the world’s top recording artists, who received awards not by jury vote, but as recognition for their worldwide sales.

Emotion and Passion at 2007 Awards Ceremony

In an emotion swept speech, announcing Patti Labelle’s Legend Award for outstanding contribution to R&B music, Ciara named Patti as “the High Priestess of Good Vibrations”. Patti’s benevolent attitude was best summed up with her own words… “It’s not about making money, because I don’t need money, but I need to sing.”
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, presenting Celine Dion’s Legend Award, praised the Canadian artist. According to the Prince, “Her contribution to music is as potent as her courageous voice.”
